Utilized Massmotion to simulate and analyze the operational efficiency and epidemic prevention performance of the full-appointment registration system in L Hospital’s outpatient department, leading to proposed optimization measures for public space management post-COVID-19.

In response to overcrowding concerns, numerous prominent hospitals in China have transitioned to online appointment systems for their outpatient departments. Particularly after the initial containment of the COVID-19 epidemic, many such hospitals have embraced a full-appointment registration model. Nonetheless, the efficacy of this registration approach is often gauged through experiential feedback, highlighting a need for quantitative simulation analyses. By analyzing the typical medical journey of patients within the outpatient departments, we employed the Massmotion tool to emulate the outpatient care scenario both prior to and following the implementation of the full-appointment registration at L Hospital. This simulation provided insights into the epidemic prevention capabilities and operational efficiency of the said model. Conclusively, through evaluating the efficacy and safety of outpatient departments that employ this full-appointment registration system, we present optimization strategies for enhancing the existing public spaces within these departments.
